Transfer - Report: Laszlo Benes moves from HSV to Union Berlin

Soccer-Professional Laszlo Benes is reportedly switching from Second League team Hamburger SV to 1. FC Union Berlin in the Bundesliga, according to a media report. According to "Bild" (Wednesday), the 26-year-old has triggered an exit clause in his contract, which runs until 2026.

New Union business manager Horst Heldt initially refused to confirm this. "If you ask me about the player now, I can tell you that I find him very interesting," the 54-year-old said during his presentation in the capital on Wednesday. "But I can't mention anything here and also can't confirm that we are in exchange. I can certainly not confirm that for you today."

According to "Bild", a transfer fee in the low to mid-range of the single-digit million euro range is said to flow for the Slovakian national player. Benes joined HSV from Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2022. In the previous season, the midfielder was one of the key figures at the Hanseatic city team with 15 goals and 12 goal assists in 30 league games.
