Report: Bremen considering return of Rolfes or Krösche
Bundesliga soccer club Werder Bremen is also looking at two big names with a Werder past in its search for a successor to its sporting director Frank Baumann, according to a report. The supervisory board at least wants to check whether Simon Rolfes from Bayer Leverkusen and Markus Krösche from Eintracht Frankfurt can imagine a return to Bremen next year, writes the multimedia portal "Deichstube" (Friday).
Both were once trained in the Werder youth academy. However, both work as sports managing director (Rolfes) and sports director (Krösche) at currently much more successful and ambitious clubs.
Former international and Werder captain Frank Baumann will not extend his contract after this season. Another candidate to succeed him is the current head of professional soccer, Clemens Fritz.
Werder Bremen, keen on finding a replacement for departing sporting director Frank Baumann, is considering a return for former academy graduates Simon Rolfes and Markus Krösche. Despite their successful roles as sports managing director at Bayer Leverkusen for Rolfes and sports director at Eintracht Frankfurt for Krösche, their relationship with Werder Bremen might make them interesting options for the Bundesliga club.
