After the bus accident on Autobahn 24 south of Schwerin with 16 lightly injured people, a replacement bus has arrived. It is still unclear what happened to the damaged tour bus. "I cannot yet say whether the bus is roadworthy and can be taken away or if it needs to be completely salvaged," said a police spokesperson on Friday morning. "The total damage is over 100,000 Euro."

Six of the 16 lightly injured people have to be treated in the hospital. The Autobahn near the town of Blievenstorf in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in the direction of Hamburg remains closed.

The Polish bus with 59 people on board came off the road between Hamburg and Berlin, according to initial findings, from the road surface. It collided with the median barrier and a traffic sign, as the police reported. All windows on the left side of the bus were damaged by the impact.
