- Relocating from Augsburg to Glasgow becomes the new venture for Engels
Arne Engels is moving to a Champions League team now. The young, 20-year-old midfielder is departing from FC Augsburg to hook up with the Scottish football champs, Celtic, situated in Glasgow, as confirmed by the Bundesliga squad. At this esteemed institution, Engels has inked a four-year deal. Both sides have decided to keep the transaction details under wraps. According to sources like "Kicker", the transfer cost could reach as high as 13 million euros.
"I made it plain that I wanted to jump at this chance when I found out about Celtic Glasgow's interest and the option to compete in the Champions League at such a tender age," Engels is mentioned as saying by Augsburg, where he played a total of 53 matches for them.
Engels joined Augsburg from FC Bruges' junior squad in January 2023, for a reported price of roughly 100,000 euros, with his contract ending in June 2027.
Engels is thrilled about joining a team that will allow him to compete in the prestigious Champions League, which is none other than Celtic Glasgow. After proving himself at FC Augsburg, Engels is now set to showcase his skills on a bigger stage in the Champions League.
