Bundesliga - Rejection from Manchester City? Pejcinovic stays in Wolfsburg
Despite Manchester City's alleged interest, German U-19 national player Dzenan Pejcinovic has extended his contract with Bundesliga side VfL Wolfsburg long-term. The club announced this on Thursday without providing further details.
The 19-year-old forward joined Wolfsburg from FC Augsburg in 2022 and has played four Bundesliga games so far. According to "Kicker," Manchester City were even willing to pay a millions-euro transfer fee for Pejcinovic. However, the German U-19 national player is said to first receive playing experience on loan at another club and then return to Wolfsburg.
"Dzenan has not unwarrantedly aroused the interest of international top clubs. We are therefore all the more pleased that we will continue to share the way with him for the long term," said VfL sports director Sebastian Schindzielorz.
