- Reichardt spearheads AfD's crusade in the German federal election
The Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) in Saxony-Anhalt is embarking on their 2025 federal election campaign with party leader Martin Reichardt leading the charge. The 55-year-old clinched the top spot at a state party meeting in Magdeburg on Sunday. The vote result was 220 for, 26 against, and 2 abstentions.
"Together, we will shield Germany from those who hate and destroy Germany," said Reichardt, voicing his disapproval of other parties' objectives. He also criticized the health policies of the previous two federal administrations, labeling them a "political epidemic" and adding, "We do not forget and we do not forgive."
Reichardt was re-appointed as the AfD's chairman in Saxony-Anhalt on Saturday. He is also a member of the national executive board of his party. Since 2017, Reichardt has been a member of the Bundestag and serves as the family matters spokesperson for the AfD caucus. The 55-year-old vowed to be a powerful advocate for children and families in parliament. Before joining the AfD, Reichardt was a member of other parties - the SPD, the FDP, and the Republicans.
The AfD's 2025 federal election campaign in Germany aims to counteract the objectives of parties perceived as damaging to the nation, as expressed by Martin Reichardt. In his role as the party leader, Reichardt criticized the health policies of the previous federal administrations, labeling them a "political epidemic."
