Finances - Rehlinger wants to take a close look at cuts to federal subsidies
Following the agreement reached by the coalition leaders in the federal government on the budget, Saarland Minister President Anke Rehlinger (SPD) wants to take a close look at the reduction in federal subsidies, among other things. "We will therefore intensively evaluate the details of the agreement as soon as they are available," she announced on Wednesday.
"The agreement puts an end to the impasse. The investments in steel, semiconductors and hydrogen are coming, and Saarland has successfully campaigned for this," she said.
After days of negotiations, the leaders of the traffic light coalition had reached an agreement on the federal budget for 2024. They see themselves forced to make cuts and savings following the budget ruling by the Federal Constitutional Court. Among other things, the CO2 price for refueling and heating with fossil fuels is to be raised.
