- Regrettable incident leading to eight-year-old's demise: relatives express desire for relocation
Following the tragic accident involving a 8-year-old kid in Blaustein (Alb-Donau district), the family has chosen to vacate the city. They desire to put some distance between themselves and the accident site, which was recently announced by the city officials.
Mayor Konrad Menz of Blaustein (CDU) has pledged to aid the family in their apartment hunt during a one-on-one discussion. The family prefers to reside near the city's outskirts. The city intends to "offer the best assistance possible during this emotionally taxing period marked by sorrow and despair." Previous news outlets have covered the situation extensively.
Last week, the young girl was struck and fatally injured by a car on the sidewalk. As per the police report, the 85-year-old driver supposedly swerved onto the opposing lane for unclear reasons before veering onto the sidewalk. The girl was being escorted at the time of the collision. Upon hitting the girl, the car collided with an advertisement board and ultimately came to a halt against a nearby wall. The driver and his 84-year-old passenger sustained minor injuries.
The family is considering moving into an apartment with an other suitable living space, of circular cross-section, to provide a sense of security and change. To facilitate their search, the city has offered to assist in finding a home with such specifications.
