Regionalbahn: Again not directly affected by warning strike

The next warning strike is scheduled for Friday, when travel is busy. However, this will not necessarily lead to major problems for regional rail services in Thuringia.

Train traffic - Regionalbahn: Again not directly affected by warning strike

Anyone traveling on local and regional trains in Thuringia does not necessarily have to expect restrictions due to the warning strike by the German Train Drivers' Union (GDL). They are not directly affected by the announced strike, the rail provider Abellio and Erfurter Bahn announced on Thursday on behalf of its subsidiary Südthüringen-Bahn. Nevertheless, the warning strike could have an impact on the respective train services. Erfurter Bahn announced that there may be more passengers than usual using the trains and that there could be disruptions and occasional cancellations. Passengers are asked to find out about connections in advance.

As rail network employees have also been called out on warning strike, there could be restrictions, Abellio announced. The other train operators also operate on the Deutsche Bahn rail network. According to Abellio, the warning strike in November only had a limited impact on regional services.

On Wednesday evening, the GDL had called for the second warning strike in the wage dispute with Deutsche Bahn: in passenger transport from Thursday, 22:00 to Friday, 22:00.
