Train dismantles overhead line - Regional train tears off overhead line - train evacuated
A regional train had torn down the overhead power line on the Waren to Neustrelitz route, in the Kratzeburg area, for a length of 300 meters. No one of the approximately 50 passengers on the train was injured in the morning accident, the Federal Police reported. The train was evacuated, and the passengers were able to continue their journey to Neustrelitz with another regional train.
The train's power collector had torn down the overhead power line during the journey. The overhead power line section was significantly damaged in the accident, the Federal Police added. Currently, the cause is assumed to be cable fatigue. The track section was already drivable again in the morning.
