Barnim: A Restored and Renovated Village from the Past - Regional train operated by intoxicated train crew member
A conductor on a regional train seemingly operated the vehicle while extremely drunk. The 53-year-old's behavior was reported to a police officer boarded on the train on a Sunday morning. The individual had been going too fast and had disregarded multiple signals, as stated by the authorities on Monday. The train in question, the RB60, journeyed from Eberswalde (Barnim County) to Bad Freienwalde.
At Bad Freienwalde station, the working cop, who was heading home, sought out the train driver and immediately discovered an intense scent of alcohol in the cabin. The man's walking was noticeably unsteady, per police information. The officer commanded the train to halt. The man denied taking a breathalyzer test, so additional support delivered him to a hospital for blood sampling.
The police detained proof and initiated a criminal investigation due to the suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and endangering rail traffic. Deutsche Bahn confirmed that the train line did not fall under their jurisdiction.
