Violent Weather Occurrence - Refugee housing and health facility relocated due to water damage
A little over a hundred patients at the Weißenhorn foundation clinic had to be moved to different locations. This includes seven patients in intensive care. Authorities stated that if sudden heavy rains hit Weißenhorn and an evacuation becomes necessary, there wouldn't be enough time for proper preparations. Around 30 individuals were discharged from the hospital, while the remaining patients were sent to the Donauklinik in Neu-Ulm.
In Lauingen an der Donau, authorities made the decision on Sunday to evacuate the residents of the Old People's and Nursing Home Hospitalstiftung. They were taken to an educational center.
In Pfaffenhofen, a sewage treatment plant suffered a failure. A THW pump was being used to secure the plant temporarily. At the moment, the rivers Roth and Leibi, passing through the district center and the northern district of Sorgen, are experiencing the most significant impact.
