Soccer - Referee injured: Second division match in Nuremberg interrupted
Following an injury to referee Richard Hempel, the second division match between 1. FC Nürnberg and Fortuna Düsseldorf was interrupted for several minutes. Hempel received treatment on his left calf midway through the first half on Saturday. In the 26th minute, he sent both teams and their support staff to the dressing rooms in frosty conditions. Six minutes later, the teams returned to the pitch and did warm-up exercises until the referees also returned to the pitch. Fourth official Assad Nouhoum from SC Oberweikertshofen in the district of Fürstenfeldbruck took charge of the match after a warm-up. He whistled for the match to restart in the 38th minute. Hempel took over Nouhoum's role on the touchline.
