25 fatalities and more than 400 serious injuries from car accidents occurred in Rhineland-Palatinate during the first three months of this year.

During the first three months of the year, the number of people suffering serious or fatal injuries in Rhineland-Palatinate's car accidents dropped as compared to the previous year. The Statistical Office reported this news in Bad Ems on Tuesday. This change saw the death toll fall from 26 to 25, and the number of severely injured decrease from 461 to 434.

Interestingly, the number of individuals who were merely slightly injured also slightly increased, according to the Statistical Office statistics. In the first three months of 2023, there were around 2930 such cases recorded, while the number now stands at approximately 2970. In this first quarter, around 32,300 automobile accidents took place, of which around 2600 involved some form of injury.
