Viewing Media: Tune In to Your Favorite Programs on Screen - "Red Roses" and "Storm of Love" to be trimmed from 2025 onwards.

The ARD weekday shows "Rote Rosen" and "Sturm der Liebe" will be shorter starting fall 2025, possibly lasting just 24 minutes per episode. This adjustment is subject to approval from committee representatives of the broadcasting institutions. The press office stated, "We recognize a significant chance in the alteration of episode duration to align the format with modern habits in regular broadcasting and in the media library." Still, plans for production continue up until 2027.

Numbers show that "Rote Rosen" averaged 880,000 viewers in the first half of this year, translating to a 10.8% market share. In contrast to the previous year's numbers, there were 1.03 million viewers and a 11.5% share. It's evident a gradual decrease in viewer engagement. "Sturm der Liebe" witnessed an average of 1.07 million viewers during the first half of this year, corresponding to 11.5% market share. This is relative to the 1.145 million viewers and 11.3% share it had within the same period of the year before. Therefore, viewer interest largely remained consistent.

Both series will undergo a lengthy break this year. Specifically, "Rote Rosen," shot in Lüneburg, will take a break for 9 weeks instead of the typical 6, halting the 2:10 p.m. weekly airing from June 17th till August 16th. Meanwhile, "Sturm der Liebe" (broadcast at 3:10 p.m. daily) will be out of commission for 13 weeks starting May 21st. These details were previously reported in various media outlets.
