Frozen puck games, also known as ice hockey, are a popular sport worldwide. - Red Bull Munich hires coach of DEL2 champion for their coaching staff.
The ice hockey team EHC Red Bull Munich has added a DEL2 champion to their coaching staff. Max Kaltenhauser, who most recently won the title with Eisbären Regensburg, will now join Toni Söderholm as an assistant in Germany. The clubs made the announcement on Thursday. Kaltenhauser, 43, took over Regensburg after his playing career ended almost five years ago and guided them from the third league to the DEL2 title in April. Unfortunately, the team didn't advance to the DEL because they didn't submit the necessary paperwork.
Kaltenhauser reflected on a "difficult decision" in his role as a coach in Regensburg. Although he was born in Ebersberg and has strong ties to the club, he can't think of anything more impressive than winning the DEL2 title with the Eisbären. "Red Bull Munich is one of Germany's and Europe's top hockey organizations," he said in a statement on the Eisbären's website. "I'm not sure I'll ever get another opportunity like this, and I'm also proud to be chosen by them."
