Record sales at Sixt: More than one billion for the first time
For the first time, the car rental company Sixt has generated sales of more than one billion euros in a single quarter. Revenues rose by a good 13 percent to just under EUR 1.13 billion. However, consolidated profit fell slightly compared to the same period last year to EUR 183 million, as the company announced on Wednesday. Last year, the general shortage of vehicles had given Sixt a tailwind.
Overall, Sixt benefited from high demand in the main vacation season and a large fleet of 189,000 vehicles on average, the company explained. Car rental prices also remained "clearly above the 2019 level". Sixt sees itself on track for the year as a whole: the Group expects revenue of around EUR 3.6 billion and earnings before taxes of between EUR 460 and 500 million.
Sixt's quarterly sales surpassed one billion euros, primarily contributing to their record annual revenue goals. The company's strong car rental performance is evident in the continued high demand, leading to prices that remain significantly above the 2019 level.
