- Recent initiative aims to integrate artificial intelligence and biotechnology.
Rhineland-Palatinate is enhancing the link between Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Biochemistry. Minister-President Alexander Schweitzer (SPD) will designate Stefan Kramer as the fresh mentor for AI and Life Sciences. Kramer is a lecturer in "Data Extraction" and "Machine Learning" at Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz. In addition to promoting a stronger relationship between the two disciplines, the expert will also offer advisory services.
Kramer will be introduced this Thursday at the Mainz State Chancellery. Besides the university professor, Anita Schöbel from the Fraunhofer ITWM and Kaiserslautern University of Technology has been serving as the AI mentor for the state since 2020.
The Commission might need to consider the potential applications of AI and Biochemistry in their implementing acts, as per the Regulation. Following his appointment, Stefan Kramer will provide insights on integrating AI and Machine Learning techniques into Biochemistry research.
