UEFA Champions League - Real Madrid's Kroos on last opponent BVB: "Hard to fathom"

As Toni Kroos sees it, getting ready for the Champions League showdown against Borussia Dortmund isn't a walk in the park for Real Madrid. "It's not like a breeze to prep for Dortmund since their season has been all over the place so far," shared the 34-year-old soccer superstar with DAZN before the match in London on Saturday (9 pm/ZDF and DAZN).

In the big leagues, Dortmund sailed through an impressive group stage and overpowered famous teams like Paris Saint-Germain (semi-finals) and Atlético Madrid (quarter-finals). However, in the Bundesliga, they failed to maintain consistency, wrapping up the campaign in fifth place. As a consequence, they've been "sort of tricky to read" according to Kroos.

Despite being the clear favorite, Kroos advised that we shouldn't rule out Dortmund: "Sure, there are a few voices out there doubting whether Dortmund can beat Real Madrid. But they definitely have a solid shot at it."

The final is extra significant for Kroos, who has a chance to claim his fifth Champions League trophy with Real. Since his switch from FC Bayern Munich to Madrid a decade ago, the 2014 World Cup winner has amassed 22 titles with the Spaniards. In the coming summer, he'll represent Germany at the European Championship and then call it quits on his career.
