Weather event lead to strong winds and heavy rains. - Readiness for evacuations in Unterallgäu region

The situation is pretty intense all over Unterallgaeu, said Alex Eder. Several roads are now blocked, and sandbags are being used in Mindelheim to shield the inner city from potential damage. The Mindel river, monitored at the Hasberg gauge, had reached a warning level of four out of four by Saturday morning. In Lauben and Nattenhausen, the Gunz River hit a warning level of three. Besides the Mindel and Gunz, other smaller streams have also started to overflow due to the continuous rain.
