Football-Bundesliga - RB Leipzig starts training camp in USA

RB Leipzig has started its first overseas journey. With 17 professionals and nine youth players, trainer Marco Rossettini will work in the USA until August 4th and also make promotional work for the German Bundesliga.

Not on the tour, which first led to Keflavik, Iceland, and then to New York, are the two German EM participants David Raum and Benjamin Henrichs, the Spanish European champion Dani Olmo, and the Paris Saint-Germain loanee Xavi Simons. They are still on vacation. Also missing are Castello Lukeba (France) and Ilaix Moriba (Guinea), who are currently playing for their teams in the Olympics. Short-term, Christoph Baumgartner had to withdraw. The Austrian underwent knee surgery due to persistent complaints, but he is expected to only miss out for a short time according to the latest information.

The Leipzigers will be lodging in Hoboken until Thursday, directly next to New York. There will be two training sessions on Monday and Tuesday, before the Wednesday (local time) match against Aston Villa marks the first of two test games.

Then, RB Leipzig will travel to Miami, where a training session is scheduled for Friday. On Saturday (local time), the Leipzigers will play against Wolverhampton Wanderers, immediately afterwards, the team will return to Leipzig.
