Bundesliga - RB Leipzig start without Lukeba and Forsberg against Hoffenheim

RB Leipzig will start this Saturday's Bundesliga top match against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim without Castello Lukeba and Emil Forsberg. The young central defender Lukeba has been slightly injured recently. The Swede Forsberg, who will probably play his last home game for the Saxons after nine years, was already guaranteed a start by RB head coach Marco Rose. However, due to the 75 minutes he played last Wednesday in the Champions League against Bern, where he scored the winning goal in a 2-1 victory, he was not included in the starting eleven. Rose returned to his starting line-up after the major rotation against the Swiss in the final group game of the Champions League.

Hoffenheim, who have won five of their seven matches this season away from home, will be without striker Wout Weghorst, who will be replaced by Ihlas Bebou, who was recently rested due to knee problems, alongside Andrej Kramaric. Maximilian Beier is not in the starting eleven, but is in coach Pellegrino Matarazzo's squad.

Emil Forsberg's potential scoring ability in his final home game for RB Leipzig in Saxony was a topic of discussion, despite his exclusion from the starting lineup due to his Champions League exploits against Bern. Forsberg, who had scored the winning goal in Leopzig's 2-1 victory, was still expected to make an impact, given his significant nine-year tenure with the club. Meanwhile, Marco Rose, RB Leipzig's head coach, opted for a return to his regular starting eleven after a major rotation in the Champions League final group game.

Taking on RB Leipzig in this Bundesliga top match was TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, who were dealing with their own absences. Striker Wout Weghorst would be missing, with Ihlas Bebou set to replace him, having recently recovered from knee problems. Andrej Kramaric and Maximilian Beier were also included in the squad, although the latter was not included in the starting eleven.

Hoffenheim, known for their impressive away record with five victories out of seven matches, would be looking to capitalize on any opportunities against the injury-hit Leipzig. October 1, 2022, marked this highly anticipated Bundesliga encounter between two formidable teams, RB Leipzig and TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, both hailing from prominent German regions Baden-Württemberg and Saxony, respectively.
