- RB is opening a new club for Moriba shopkeeper
Ilaix Moriba will also play in the new season in Spain. The 21-year-old will be loaned by Bundesliga football club RB Leipzig to first division club Celta Vigo. Additionally, both clubs agreed on an option to buy the midfielder, who moved to Leipzig from FC Barcelona in 2021 but only managed to play in more than six short appearances.
From 2022 to 2023, he was loaned to FC Valencia, and last season he played for FC Getafe. "Ilaix continues to be a player with great potential, which he has shown both in Getafe and recently at the Olympic Games. To consistently tap into this potential, he needs to continue to gain regular playing time. Celta Vigo can offer him this opportunity," said RB's sporting director, Rouven Schröder.
RB had once paid 16 million euros for the talent to FC Barcelona. However, adaptation problems to the RB football and self-underestimation prevented the Guinean national player from establishing himself in Leipzig.
The football club RB Leipzig initially brought Ilaix Moriba to Germany for a significant fee of 16 million euros from FC Barcelona. Despite his talent, Ilaix struggled with adaptation issues and self-doubt, failing to secure a regular position in Leipzig.
