The president of TU [University Name] announces new policy initiatives. - Rauch seeks action for disciplinary measures against himself.

Geraldine Rauch, who holds the position of president at Technical University (TU) Berlin, has initiated a disciplinary action against herself within the university's administrative body. Her motive for this step was to address the allegations against her and ensure an impartial elucidation. In the opening moments of the Academic Senate's gathering at the TU, Rauch expressed her regret for "liking" an antisemitic post online and mentioned her "profound remorse." She mentioned the harm caused to numerous individuals and begged for their forgiveness. Rauch has also opted to remove herself from social media platforms.

The Academic Senate meeting was designed to determine Rauch's fate following her actions of "liking" antisemitic content on platform X. The Senate consists of university professors, academic personnel, students, as well as staff from the technology, services, and administration sectors.

During her earlier apology, Rauch claimed she had liked the post for its text, without thoroughly examining the accompanying image. The author behind the tweet asserted that the depicted demonstrators were Turkish individuals advocating for a truce in the Gaza Strip.

In an effort to combat antisemitism at the university, Rauch declared that she would promptly address any potential antisemitic demonstrations on campus. She also aims to provide counseling hours specifically for Jewish students and intends to broaden the reach of a consultation center for those affected by antisemitism.

Rauch has been the target of criticism from numerous sources, including the Mayor's office, the Central Council of Jews, and the TU presidium. However, students and staff at the university expressed their support for the president.
