National coach - Rangnick lives with Austria in Berlin during the European Championships

Ralf Rangnick and the Austrian national team will be staying in the German capital during next year's European Football Championship. The ÖFB has chosen the Schlosshotel Berlin in the Grunewald district as its base. This was announced by the association on Thursday. The German national team stayed at the hotel during the home World Cup in 2006.

Berlin was an obvious choice for the Austrians. They will play two of their three preliminary round matches in the capital. They will reportedly train in the stadium at the Wurfplatz in the Olympiapark from June 12.

However, the ÖFB team will kick off on June 17 in Düsseldorf. Their opponents will be former world and European champions France (21:00). Four days later, Rangnick's team will play in Berlin's Olympiastadion (18:00) against a play-off winner yet to be determined from the quartet of Poland, Estonia, Wales and Finland, who will qualify for the European Championship. On June 25, the preliminary round will conclude with another match against the Netherlands in Berlin (18:00).

Ralf Rangnick, the national coach, currently resides in Berlin during Austria's participation in the European Championships. The Schlosshotel Berlin in the Grunewald district was chosen by the ÖFB as their base for the tournament. Similar to Germany's team during the 2006 World Cup, the Austrian national team will also stay at this hotel. Berlin was an attractive choice due to the team playing two out of their three preliminary round matches in the city. The ÖFB team's first match will be against France in Düsseldorf on June 17, followed by a match against a play-off winner in Berlin's Olympiastadion on June 21. Their final preliminary round match will be against the Netherlands in Berlin on June 25, before moving on to the knockout stages.
