Thuringia's Leader, Bodo Ramelow from the Left party, is facing the challenge of forming a government with CDU's lead candidate, Mario Voigt. Ramelow expressed, "The one who bags the most democratic votes, they should initiate the talks and extend invitations. I'm ready to back anyone who helps us secure a democratic majority in the parliament." He made these statements during an interview on ARD, acknowledging the CDU's voting results. It's worth noting that Voigt's party finished behind the AfD, which is labeled as right-wing extremist by Thuringia's Office for the Protection of the Constitution.

On the topic of his party's underperformance, Ramelow, the Left's top candidate, said, "We need to scrutinize the aftermath of this situation." Simultaneously, he applauded the impressive voter turnout in Thuringia: "This is the highest voter turnout the state has ever recorded."

In the aftermath of the election, Mario Voigt, the CDU's lead candidate, is actively engaging in discussions regarding the formation of a government with Thuringia's Leader, Bodo Ramelow. Despite the CDU finishing behind the AfD, labeled as right-wing extremist by Thuringia's Office for the Protection of the Constitution, Mario Voigt continues to play a significant role in the political landscape, as acknowledged by Bodo Ramelow during an interview on ARD.
