- Ramelow contrasted with Höcke: Leader upholding loftier principles
Thuringia's Minister-President, Bodo Ramelow (from the Left party), has a strong likelihood of securing another term - according to polls, he outranks his rivals from AfD and CDU.
As per a survey conducted by Forschungsgruppe Wahlen for ZDF Politbarometer, the 68-year-old Ramelow garnered 65% support when asked who they would prefer as Thuringia's Minister-President, despite a downward trend for the Left party. The poll indicated 20% support for AfD leader Björn Höcke, while 30% preferred AfD and 23% supported CDU. The Left party had 14% support.
Ramelow holds an advantage in a head-to-head versus CDU candidate

If given a choice between Voigt and Höcke, Voigt would gain 61% support, while Höcke would receive 19%.
Another study by infratest dimap for ARD this week showed 50% of respondents considered Ramelow an excellent Minister-President, a decrease from 70% five years ago. Voigt earned 23% support as a potential Minister-President, and Höcke received 17% support.
