Olympic Games - Rain in Paris: Summer Games opening ceremony started
Under gray rain clouds, the opening ceremony for the Olympic Games began in Paris. According to plan, the show, which is scheduled to last for 3 hours and 45 minutes, is the first opening ceremony for Summer Games to take place outside a stadium. Instead, 6800 female and male athletes are rowing a six-kilometer long course on the Seine river, which ends at the Eiffel Tower.

Over 300,000 spectators
Approximately 320,000 spectators along the Seine are following the spectacle.
