- Rain and storm devastate Bexbach's holiday camp

Heavy rain and thunderstorms have devastated a youth camp in Bexbach (Saarpfalz district). During the storm on Thursday evening, only three staff members were on the grounds, as police reported. No one was injured.

The young campers were on an excursion at the time of the storm, it was reported. The camp, located on a former military base, usually accommodates 76 young people and 30 staff members. Many large tents, equipment, and personal belongings were damaged.

After the devastating storm, authorities are considering relocating future youth camps away from Saarland due to its susceptibility to severe weather. Despite the damage, the camp organizers are planning to rebuild and provide a safer environment for the children in Saarland.
