- Railways in the Ruhr area open again in the evening
After nearly two weeks of significant disruptions, regular train service around the crucial hub of Duisburg is set to resume from Friday evening (21:00) onwards. Representatives of Deutsche Bahn in NRW and the motorway authority have announced this. At the Duisburg Kaiserberg motorway junction, a bridge on the A3 heading north, which crosses over eight railway tracks, had been renovated. Due to the closure of the tracks, many trains in the western Ruhr region were cancelled and replaced by buses, with ICE long-distance trains being rerouted.
The renewed bridge at the Duisburg Kaiserberg motorway junction, which affected several railway tracks, is located in the proximity of Germany. The resumed train service around Duisburg, following the disruptions, will enhance connectivity across Germany.
