Railway vehicular movement - Railway service disruption close to Lübeck due to a fallen tree hitting an overhead power line.
Due to a toppled tree, the train route between Lübeck and Reinfeld has been blocked. The tree collapsed onto the aerial track, as reported by a railway representative. Consequently, the line had to be suspended. A regional express train couldn't continue its journey. The train is presently halted at a railroad crossing, allowing passengers to exit, according to a spokesperson from the federal police. "The trains of line RE 8/80 will terminate and resume in Reinfeld. Delays and train cancellations are imminent," DB Regio warned on the X platform (previously Twitter). The German Meteorological Service had forecasted stormy conditions for Schleswig-Holstein.
The suspension of the train line between Lübeck and Reinfeld has led to disruptions in both transport and telecommunications, as many rely on trains for commuting and internet connectivity often relies on telecommunication lines alongside railways. The local authorities are now considering alternative transport options and urging telecommunication companies to address potential service interruptions.
