Snow chaos - Rail: travelers should postpone unnecessary journeys

Due to the heavy onset of winter in southern Germany, Deutsche Bahn is asking travelers to postpone non-urgent journeys on Monday as well. A Deutsche Bahn spokeswoman told the German Press Agency on Sunday that not all long-distance connections will be available at the start of the week. As already announced, there will also be severe disruptions to rail services on Monday. The routes are currently being investigated. The spokeswoman said that they were examining whether it would be possible to resume operations on each individual route affected.

After a severe onset of winter, traffic was paralyzed on Saturday, especially in Bavaria - for example due to icy overhead lines. Road and air traffic was also hardly possible or not possible at all.
