Raid against "Reichsbürger" also in Baden-Württemberg
Emergency services searched several properties in eight federal states on Thursday in connection with investigations into so-called "Reichsbürger". Baden-Württemberg was also affected. According to dpa information, investigators were deployed in 11 properties under the jurisdiction of the police in Aalen, Karlsruhe, Constance, Offenburg, Reutlingen, Ravensburg and Ulm. The 20 suspects are accused of forming a criminal organization.
According to dpa information, police officers were also on the move in Bavaria, Hesse, North Rhine-Westphalia, Schleswig-Holstein, Brandenburg, Hamburg and Lower Saxony during the raids under the direction of the Munich Public Prosecutor General's Office.
It was only in October that forces in several federal states searched numerous homes of so-called "Reich citizens", who were attributed to the alleged terrorist group "United Patriots". A total of five suspects were arrested.
"Reich citizens" are people who do not recognize the Federal Republic of Germany and its democratic structures.
The raids against extremist "Reichsbürger" groups also involved the police in Bavaria, as they were accused of forming a criminal organization associated with terrorism. The simultaneous investigations into the alleged activities of these "Reich citizens" have led to multiple arrests and searches of their properties across various federal states.
