Rocking out in the public space - Racist slogans yelled from a Ferris wheel platform
At Rock im Park festival in Nuremberg, two individuals are accused of yelling racist chants during "L'amour toujours." People claiming to have witnessed the incident reported hearing "Germany for the Germans" and "Foreigners out" from a neighboring gondola on a huge ferris wheel. Police shared this information on Sunday. Two out of the five individuals in the gondola were belting out the song.
When the witnesses approached this five-person group after the ride, they were reportedly assaulted by two 28- and 30-year-olds. The witnesses didn't sustain severe injuries, an officer stated. The organizers have since barred the two aggressors from attending the event. The police are presently probing the case with suspicions of hate speech charges against unidentified individuals, as it remained unclear who from the group had sung during the day prior.
Earlier this year, a video showing revelers on Sylt caused national uproar. The 15-second footage displayed partygoers chanting racist phrases to the musical tune of a popular track.
