Berlin-Pankow - Racist slogans: Police arrest 29-year-old man

A 29-year-old man is accused of racially insulting a man in Berlin's Mauerpark and assaulting another man. Witnesses observed on Friday evening how the man shouted racist slurs at an unknown person, as the police reported on Saturday. Subsequently, he got into a fight with another unknown person and hit him with his fist. The other person then struck back at the 29-year-old. The police were alerted and eventually arrested the 29-year-old. It turned out that there was an open arrest warrant against him.

According to a police spokesperson, the physical altercation had no direct connection to the previous racist insult against the other unknown person. The police are investigating due to the suspicion of incitement to hatred and mutual bodily harm.

Press release Police

The 29-year-old, after being arrested at Berlin's Mauerpark, has a history of disturbances in Wall Park, where similar incidents of crime have been reported. Officers are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any instances of hate speech or violence in these public spaces.
