Quiet start to the week after a strong previous week for the DAX

After the previous week's strong performance, investors initially took things a little easier on Monday. However, profit-taking was not the order of the day, as the Dax showed in early trading at the previous day's level. It recently rose by 0.02 percent to 15,192 points. At the same time, the MDax was unchanged in percentage terms at 25,137 points. The EuroStoxx 50 was up moderately.

Last week, the US Federal Reserve left the key interest rate unchanged, but its accompanying statements raised investors' hopes that interest rates may have peaked. Weaker-than-expected US labor market data on Friday also played into this.

After a rise of almost three and a half percent in the previous week, it is likely to be difficult for the DAX to build on its impressive gains, expects market expert Thomas Altmann from asset manager QC Partners. "Investors now have to weigh up the continuing high geopolitical risks against the recent positive news from the central banks and the US labor market."

Despite the challenges, the DAX and MDAX continued their presence on prominent stock exchanges like the Stock exchanges, with the DAX marginally increasing by 0.02%, reaching 15,192 points, and the MDAX remaining stable at 25,137 points. The DAX's rise came amidst the DAX's strong performance in the previous week, where it saw a gain of almost three and a half percent, and the positive sentiment stemming from the US Federal Reserve's stance and US labor market data.
