Accidents - Quiet roads despite persistent frost and snowfall
Despite the continuing frosty weather with snowfall and icy conditions at the beginning of the week, the roads in the north remained quiet on Monday night. It was one of the quietest nights for several days, according to police spokespeople from Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania on Monday morning.
The German Weather Service is reporting up to five centimetres of fresh snow over the course of Monday with cold temperatures of up to minus seven degrees. According to current forecasts, the thermometer will only climb back above zero degrees towards the middle of the week.
