- Purple Disco Machine is touring with a concert in Dresden
In about a month before the release of his new album, Dresden-based DJ Purple Disco Machine returns to the stages of the state capital. "I particularly enjoy performing in Dresden," said Tino Piontek, the DJ's civilian name, to the German Press Agency. After his first performance in his hometown almost a year ago, he immediately knew he wanted to repeat it in 2024.
The concert on Saturday at the Filmnights at the Elbe riverbank is the kick-off for the tour of his new album "Paradise", which will be released on September 20. In total, 21 dates are planned, with three in the USA and Mexico, and the rest in Europe. Purple Disco Machine will also perform in Germany in cities like Hamburg, Berlin, Cologne, and Stuttgart.
A special highlight in Dresden
This is the first tour with a band, and the show at the Dresden Young Guard last September served as a test run. "What we tried last year, we've now perfected," said Piontek.
On Saturday, concert-goers can look forward to a special highlight. "Dresden will definitely be a bit different from the rest of the tour, because we'll have a few more artists joining us who are also on the album," Piontek announced.
The Dresden DJ and producer won a Grammy in 2023 in the category "Best Remix Recording" for his remix of "About Damn Time" by US singer Lizzo. He also achieved international success with songs like "Hypnotized" or "Fireworks".
Tino Piontek, better known as DJ Purple Disco Machine, expressed his fondness for performing in Dresden, where he is based. He mentioned that the concert on Saturday at the Filmnights by the Elbe riverbank is a special highlight, as they will have additional artists joining them who are also featured on his upcoming album.
