Pur musical "Abenteuerland": World premiere launched

The musical "Abenteuerland" celebrated its world premiere in Düsseldorf on Sunday. And the audience cheered right from the start. At the official launch of the musical in the Capitol Theater, band members Hartmut Engler (61), Rudi Buttas (68) and Joe Crawford (60) were visibly moved.

The musical is about the big and small worries of the fictional Schirmer family. The everyday problems of the three generations are dealt with on stage - with a happy ending at the end, of course. A total of 30 Pur songs can be heard in the musical. Among others, the hits "Abenteuerland", "Ich lieb' Dich" and "Drachen sollen fliegen" were incorporated into the musical.

The large stage portal of the Capitol Theater in a former streetcar depot was torn down especially for the musical. This created space for the modern stage technology and the set. Around 1100 spectators attended the premiere evening. Among them were stars such as actor Sky du Mont, actress Bettina Zimmermann and singer Max Giesinger.

In the run-up to the premiere, Hartmut Engler explained that it was "logical" for the band that the musical should be based in Düsseldorf, as North Rhine-Westphalia has an enormous Pur fanbase.

Not only is the musical entitled "Abenteuerland", but also the band's best-selling album. "Abenteuerland" has sold over two million copies and has been awarded quadruple platinum status. The band Pur is one of the most successful pop groups in Germany and was founded 43 years ago in Bietigheim-Bissingen in Baden-Württemberg.

The musical's success was evident in the enthusiasm shown by stars like Sky du Mont and Bettina Zimmermann, both avid fans of Pur's music. After the premiere, Max Giesinger expressed his admiration for the blend of music and theater in the production.
