Public Prosecutor demands millions fine in trial against Boateng

The defense requested an acquittal from the charge of dangerous bodily harm and at most a moderate fine for the footballer. Boateng testified extensively in the proceedings. He admitted to a physical altercation with his former partner during a shared Caribbean vacation in 2018. However, he denied the prosecution's charge of intentional bodily harm.

The accusations against the defendant Boateng, who currently plays for Linzer ASK in Austria and previously for Italian clubs, stem from a Caribbean vacation where a fight is said to have occurred. Boateng was sentenced to fines for bodily harm and defamation by the Munich Magistrates' Court and the Regional Court. However, the latest judgment was overturned by the Bavarian Higher Regional Court, leading to a new trial.

The Munich Public Prosecutor's Office I has announced the reissue of Bodily Harm Proceedings against Jerome Boateng due to the overturned judgment. The new trial could potentially result in a more severe Fine for the footballer. The reissued charges allege Boateng's involvement in a physical altercation during a shared vacation in 2018, which led to bodily harm. Boateng's former partner has supported these allegations. The Football world champion, currently playing for Linzer ASK in Austria and previously for Italian clubs, will present his defense in front of the Munich I Regional Court.
