Dresden Court: Rules on Regional Legal Matters - Public Prosecutor Calls for Jail Time over False COVID-19 Tests
The defendant persisted with her actions despite a new law in 2021 and clear warnings from the Medical Chamber of Saxony, according to the prosecutor. He is also seeking a four-year ban on practicing medicine and the confiscation of over 47,000 euros earned from her illegal activities. The defendant earned at least 30 euros for each health certificate she issued, leading to 1003 instances of false health certificates.
The trial started back in November 2023, and the doctor has thus far remained silent on the allegations. From the prosecution's standpoint, it is "absolutely undeniable" that she "knowingly and deliberately" disregarded the government's pandemic safety guidelines, acting with high criminal energy. The doctor would give out certificates based on clients' statements before even examining them, only to later claim she had treated them.
The defense's case will be presented on June 11th, and a final decision is expected to be reached in June.
