A protest against far-right conservatism slated for this coming Saturday in Offenburg, Germany, has been abruptly annulled. The local government communicated this to the authorities midweek. No justifications were offered.

The Green District Association Ortenau indicated that disagreements concerning the attendees of the rally served as the impetus for its cancellation. Democratic parties and their subordinate organizations were not to be excluded. Indications from the organizer's association disclosed intentions to also exclude the FDP and CDU and their respective youth groups in Offenburg.

"In the struggle against right-wing extremism, all democratic entities must be incorporated and we must act together, irrespective of whether we concur on every political topic," commented the Greens, the SPD, the youth factions of the two parties, and "Aufstehen gegen Rassismus Offenburg." They proposed a fresh gathering involving all democratic parties.
