Religious convention - Protestants Gather in Frankfurt (Oder)

Many Christians from different locations in Central and Eastern Europe are anticipated to go to an International Church Congress in Frankfurt (Oder) and Slubice. With the motto "Nothing can separate us," the Evangelical Church in Berlin-Brandenburg-Upper Lusatia (EKBO) and the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland (EAKiP) invite for the Christian Encounter Days from Friday (7th June) to Sunday (9th June) in the European twin city. Attendees are mainly anticipated from Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Hungary, Ukraine, Austria, and Germany.

"We appreciate our robust, cross-border connection, especially in today's times. It's incredibly significant," mentioned the bishop of the EKBO, Christian Stäblein. "We communicate different languages - and yet we're one - in the language of faith and the heart." Stäblein is envisioned to inaugurate the event together with Bishop Jerzy Samiec from Warsaw at 6:00 pm on Friday in Frankfurt (Oder).

Participants can partake in panel discussions and round tables on themes like borders, sexual orientation, the Ukraine battle, and obstacles for the churches in both cities. For families, there's a proposal at the Kleist Forum in Frankfurt (Oder) to construct biblical narratives with Lego stones.

In addition, there's music - from Moldavian-Hungarian folk dances to a techno church service to the musical "Distelkinder" about the undertakings of Johann Hinrich Wichern and Amanda Böhme for socially disadvantaged kids. During the action "Feeding the 4000," a one-kilometer-long table will be set up from the marketplace to the Oder promenade, where people will eat collectively.
