Labor dispute - Protest rally in the public sector wage dispute
This Monday, employees in Rhineland-Palatinate also want to take to the streets in support of their demands in the public sector wage dispute in the federal states. In the state capital of Mainz, a march through the city center and then rallies are planned for the morning.
The wage dispute is about the salaries of around 1.1 million employees nationwide. Around 1.4 million civil servants are also affected, to whom the result is usually transferred. According to the DGB, a total of around 120,000 employees and civil servants are affected in Rhineland-Palatinate. The unions are demanding 10.5 percent more income, but at least 500 euros more per month. The wage agreement is to run for 12 months. The third round of negotiations is scheduled for December 7 and 8 in Potsdam.
