Prosecutor Paderborn is dropping the death penalty.

The case was unusual. Following the violent death of a man in Paderborn, the suspect called the police himself. No further investigation is now being conducted.

Around three months after the violent death of a 45-year-old man in Paderborn, the public prosecutor's office has discontinued the investigation. According to a statement, the 43-year-old suspect, after being transferred to a secure psychiatric facility at the end of July, committed suicide.

The man had called the police himself at the end of May, stating that he had killed someone. The responding officers found the caller and a dead man at the given address.

The tragic incident occurred in the city of Paderborn, where the 45-year-old man met his untimely death. Despite the ongoing investigation, it was eventually decided to halt proceedings in Paderborn.
