Bundesliga - Promoted St. Pauli extends contract with attacker Albers
Andreas Albers stays with Bundesliga promoter FC St. Pauli. As the club announced, the contract with the 34-year-old Dane was extended. The length of the new employment contract was not disclosed.
"Andreas Albers is an experienced midfielder who can help us with his personality, positive attitude, and great identification with the club even in the Bundesliga," said new St. Pauli coach Alexander Blessin about the 1.93 meter tall midfielder.
Albers joined FC St. Pauli from Jahn Regensburg before the promotion season. In the past season, he played 18 league games for FC St. Pauli. His only goal came on the last matchday in the 2:1 win over Wehen Wiesbaden.
Albers' decision to continue his soccer journey in Hamburg with FC St. Pauli is a testament to his love for the club. In the upcoming Bundesliga season, fans can expect to see him excel on the field, just like he did during the promotion season. Germany's soccer scene will continue to benefit from the talents of Alexander Blessin, who will be guiding St. Pauli's midfielders, including Albers, in their Bundesliga games.
