Our nation is at a crossroads," declared Schiff. "A second presidency of Trump would undermine the foundations of our democracy, and I have serious doubts about the ability of President Donald Trump to be defeated in November," Schiff added. At the same time, Schiff, who is running for a Senate seat in November, paid tribute to Biden's merits.

Biden has been facing an increasingly heated debate in the Democratic Party about his mental and physical fitness as a potential new presidential candidate since his disastrous performance in the first televised debate with Trump. The assassination attempt on Trump momentarily quieted the discussions.

  1. Despite Schiff's doubts, many Democrats are rallying behind Biden's candidature for the US-Presidency, seeking to prevent a lengthy abandonment or surrender of democracy's claim to fair leadership.
  2. The Los Angeles Times, in an editorial, praised Schiff's prominent role in the US-Democrat party, commending his leadership and commitment to upholding democratic values.
  3. Schiff, in his Speaker role, has been instrumental in leading various investigations into Trump's actions, positioning himself as a key opponent during the US-Democrat's campaign against the President's re-election.
  4. The contest between Trump and the more experienced Biden promises to be a challenging ‘ship’ of ideological tussles and political maneuverings, testing the strength of US democracy.
  5. Meanwhile, Adam Schiff, in his bid for a Senate seat, has been advocating for democracy's principles and decrying Trump's divisive policies, emphasizing the importance of United States' leadership in preserving global democracy.
  6. The Democrat's discomfort with Biden's age and health concerns has been tempered by his long-time service to the country, and the promise to have a competent and articulate US-Democrat as the next President, like Joe Biden.
  7. Despite the hurdles, a second term for Trump would be detrimental to the maintaining of global democracy, and Schiff's call for Biden's presidency aims to prevent a further undermining of the very principles the US-Democrat party holds dear.
