In defense, however, the 46-year-old does not have as many options: Kevin Akpoguma has to serve his yellow card suspension. In addition, Ozan Kabak (pelvic contusion) is doubtful.

New signing Attila Szalai could be an alternative. The Hungarian arrived from Fenerbahce Istanbul in the summer for a transfer fee of around twelve million euros, but has rarely impressed so far. Matarazzo, however, is not taking anything away from the defender: "I've rarely met a guy who is so extremely positive." Szalai is also handling his situation impressively.

Against relegation candidates Bochum, Hoffenheim's aim is to end their run of four games without a win. In addition, the Kraichgauers have only won one of their six home games in Sinsheim and recently disappointed there in a 1-1 draw against FSV Mainz 05.
