Producers of "Gen V" announce that Chance Perdomo's character will not be replaced after his tragic passing.
In a fresh statement, the forthcoming season aims to "honor Chance and his legacy."
Conveying their dedication to remembering the late actor, the crew at Gen V declared: "As we work through the devastating loss of Chance Perdomo, our entire team is committed to finding an appropriate way to celebrate his memory."
Deciding against recasting Perdomo's character, the statement emphasized: "We believe that no one can replace him."
Moving forward, the creators shared: "We've been taking the necessary time and space to rework our Season 2 narrative as we commence production in May."
The heartbreaking news of Perdomo's death in a motorcycle crash at the age of 27 reached the public in March, as confirmed by a representative's statement to CNN.
He was recognized for his portrayal of Andre Anderson, alias Polarity - an up-and-coming "Supe" with superhuman strength, in "Gen V"'s initial season.
Debuting in 2023, this spinoff of the anti-superhero series "The Boys" revolves around a group of collegiate heroes vying for a spot in The Seven. This exclusive superhero squad first made its appearance in "The Boys" Season 1.
In the wake of Perdomo's death, the "Gen V" producers penned a heartfelt message on X, expressing: "He was always friendly and cheerful, brimming with energy, a remarkably gifted performer, and, most importantly, a truly delightful person."
Back in 2019, Perdomo was showered with recognition due to his performance in the TV movie "Killed by My Debt," earning him a best leading actor BAFTA TV Award nomination. Additionally, he starred as Ambrose Spellman throughout all four seasons of "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina," starring Kiernan Shipka.
