Process against US actor Baldwin dismissed due to withheld evidence

The procedure had taken an unexpected turn prior to Friday. Baldwin's attorney Alex Spiro presented evidence that sharp ammunition was given to the police in connection with the fatal shooting, which the Baldwin lawyers had not been informed about. Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer then decided that the withholding by the prosecution was intentional. This greatly harmed the defendant.

During the filming of the Western "Rust" in 2021, the 42-year-old camera woman Halyna Hutchins was fatally shot by a bullet from a revolver held by Baldwin. The same bullet injured the director Joel Souza.

The prosecution accuses Baldwin of disregarding fundamental firearms safety regulations and recklessly endangering his colleagues on set. The actor insists on his innocence and claims he did not pull the trigger.
